How to stay happy in life

It’s a fact that if we keep searching for happiness from someone or something, then we will be dependent on an external source for our happiness. But instead, if we believe that happiness is something that exists within us, in our thoughts, beliefs, inner conscious, then we can easily achieve our goal of becoming happy. So, happiness is your choice of thoughts that can produce a pleasant feeling in your subconscious mind

You need to always remember that positive thoughts create positive emotions or feelings and accordingly a positive state of mind. Just like how one perceives certain traits like being confident, fearful, having attention, interest, anger, etc. to be inclusive and individualistic, happiness is also the same.

1. Exercise more

Lots of studies on this one. Exercising releases the good mood endorphins so that you are always in a better mood after a workout or simply a walk to the supermarket. I have never met a person in a bad mood after a workout. But where is the scientific evidence?

The University of Toronto did a great job on this and analyzed no less than 24 research studies.(1) The conclusion was that physical activity can and does help to keep depression at day.

The best study I know is where three groups of depressed people are put on a regime of anti-depressants, exercise or a combination of the two. No surprise to know that all three groups were happy, but did it last? Six months later, the group who had been treated with exercise only, had a very low relapse rate of 9%. The other two groups had relapsed and how! Their rates were ranging from 38% to 31%, so about a third of them were now depressed again.

2.Don’t take yourself so seriously

Hold yourself with a ‘light hand. Laugh at your foibles with amusement.

When things get tough or stress arises, lift your shoulders with an “oh well…” Know that it’s never as big or life devastating as your mind thinks.

Happy people trust that whatever glitch happens will work itself out.

They give a Laugh and a “So what? Who cares? Big Deal! Why not?” when met with resistances.

3. Focus on the positive.

To find long-term happiness, you need to retrain your brain from a negative mindset to a positive mindset. Try these things: Spend one to two minutes looking for positives in your life. Do this three times a day for 45 days, and your brain will start doing it automatically.

Choose a positive mantra for the day — something you will repeat to yourself, such as “Today is beautiful” or “I feel grateful for all I have.” And when things go south, take a moment to try and see it from a positive light. Never underestimate the importance of recognizing the silver linings in life.

4.Be grateful

Simply being grateful can give your mood a big boost, among other benefits. For example, a recent two-part study found that practicing gratitude can have a significant impact on feelings of hope and happiness.

Start each day by acknowledging one thing you’re grateful for. You can do this while you’re brushing your teeth or just waiting for that snoozed alarm to go off.

As you go about your day, try to keep an eye out for pleasant things in your life. They can be big things, such as knowing that someone loves you or getting a well-deserved promotion.

But they can also be little things, such as a co-worker who offered you a cup of coffee or the neighbor who waved to you. Maybe even just the warmth of the sun on your skin.

With a little practice, you may even become more aware of all the positive things around you.

5.Listen to music to drown out negative thoughts.

Besides the fun you’ll have dancing to upbeat tunes, there’s actually science to back up the notion that uplifting songs can positively impact your brain.

“Music has been found to reduce pain, alleviate anxiety, increase immune functioning, and increase positive emotions,” says azaizi Marshall, founder and CEO of the centre for creative Therapy, an arts-based psychotherapy practice and training center in Chicago. “Music has a direct link to your emotions, so when you’re stressed out, sing along and feel the anxiety leave your body.”

How to overcome your Weakness

In a perfect world, you would be really good at everything you need to have a successful business and a successful life. Then again, in an ideal world, you’d also have fantastic hair, abs of steel, and a winning lottery ticket in your pocket.

Here in this imperfect world, we all have to face the fact that we’re good at some things, just passable at others, and downright lousy at some that are really important.

this can be frustrating because you want to be good at everything. Worse, you may believe you have to be good at everything because you’re the only one who can make your company a success.

You’re not good at everything, and neither is anyone else.

1.Find your weakness

It is equally important to know your weaknesses as much as knowing your strengths.

Your weaknesses hold you back from achieving many great things. Weaknesses are areas that you have the power to improve. It can be anything ranging from professional to social skills.

Knowing your weaknesses allows you to understand how you can work around them. Strengths and weaknesses are part of being self-aware. When you know your strengths and weaknesses, you can create a development strategy that focuses on your specific development needs.

2.Honest with yourself

The truth is that most of us lie to ourselves on a daily basis. We sugarcoat and mask the reality of a situation because it’s too difficult to mentally deal with certain things. We’re not weak — we’re just lazy or tired or angry or anything else for that matter. How could we possibly be weak?

The ego is a very powerful thing. How we behave in front of others is often strikingly different than how we behave on our own. In our own minds, we are weak and afraid. Some of us more than others. But all of us in some capacity or another. No one is as confident as they might seem to be.

3.Focus on small things

Small wins are progress points on your way to your goal. For example, say that your main goal is to get out of debt. This can be a daunting and discouraging task because it involves a lot of moving parts. Focusing on small wins helps you break down a large goal into manageable chunks.

4.Educate yourself

Do some research about how other people have overcome their workplace weaknesses. Try to understand the reasons why you’re struggling in a certain area and read about what could help you. Realize also that there are people out there that struggle with similar things and have found ways to get better

5.Challenge yourself to push past discomfort

As you continue on your path to overcoming your weakness, you may feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed at times. This is a natural part of the professional growth process, and it can be beneficial for you to welcome such feelings by both acknowledging them and being mindful of why you’re experiencing them. From here, try to challenge yourself to push past moments of discomfort to achieve higher-level growth.
